While not the world’s most planted grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon is arguably the planet’s most recognized red wine grape. Its popularity could be attributed to its links to the famous wine growing regions of Bordeaux and Napa Valley, or just to the viticultural fact that it is grown pretty much wherever wine grapes are grown. While some may view Cabernet Sauvignon as prosaic due to its popularity, we believe there’s more to this potentially exalting and noble grape variety. Is it “the King” of wine grapes? Well, since we don’t have royalty here in the States we won’t go that far…but we will say that Cabernet Sauvignon certainly fits the description!
